Countdown to Christmas: Get Ready for the Apple watchOS 10.2 Update!

Apple is said to release the latest watchOS 10.2 update, which is currently in beta testing, in December. This upcoming update for Apple watches will bring new features, bug fixes and a few improvements.

According to reports, the upcoming OS update will bring new features such as personalized diary suggestions and better weather information. It improves the overall battery performance of Apple watches.

In addition, improved Siri integration allows Apple Watch users to send messages or make calls directly from their watch with a simple voice command. The Cupertino-based tech giant is also preparing a fix for a problem that causes excessive battery drain on some Apple Watches after they’ve been updated to watchOS 10.1.

In an official internal memo obtained by MacRumors from multiple sources, Apple said the issue will be fixed in a watchOS update that is “coming soon.” Apple didn’t provide more details in the memo, so it’s unclear what was behind it. According to the report, the issue is how many customers are affected and whether every Apple Watch model is affected.

To download the WatchOS 10.2 Beta update:

– On iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update, then click Beta Updates, then click Choose Developer beta to install.

– When a new developer beta is available, you can install it from Software Update.

The company also recently released the watchOS 10.1 update, which brings a new double-tap gesture that is only available to Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 users. The Double Tap gesture can be used to perform a primary action in notifications and most apps to answer a call, play and pause music, stop the timer and more,

The double-tap gesture allows users to tap the index finger and thumb together twice on the watch face to quickly perform many of the most common actions. The watchOS 10.1 update also includes the NameDrop feature, which lets you exchange contacts with someone new simply by bringing your Apple Watch near an iPhone running iOS 17 or Apple Watch.
